April of Kathy May's Restaurant

My mom started taking her car to Mike’s Auto Repair Huntington Beach a few years ago. It is conveniently located down the street from both her work, Kathy May’s Restaurant, and her home. She suggested I take my Ford Expedition to them when I had a problem with my check engine light. They took care of it so expertly that I took my son’s Ford F150 when it was having a problem with the check engine light too. The other day I really needed an oil change. I was way overdue. We are closing the current location of Kathy May’s Restaurant and moving to a new location. My schedule is very hectic because of this. I called Mike’s in the morning and asked if I could possibly get an oil change when I got off work that afternoon. They understood my situation and fit me in! The Ford Expert Mechanic did an inspection that comes with every oil change and now I know that my car is reliable to get me through this move! FYI..the current location of the Kathy May’s Restaurant will be closing February 15, 2012. 2002 Ford Explorer Ernie A, Huntington Beach

My neighbor recommended we try Mike’s Auto Repair Huntington Beach for our Ford Explorer. When my son needed an oil change on his 2001 Explorer we decided to take our neighbor’s advice and try Mike’s. We were so impressed with their expertise that I took my 2002 Explorer back for an oil change and AC service. So that’s why when I had a running problem I took it right to Mike’s. They reliable mechanic thoroughly tested the system and found that there was a lot of carbon build up. They suggested starting with a BG Air Induction Service. After performing the service the car ran so much better! Mike informed me that there might still be another problem but I should drive it for a little while to see how it goes. George C. 2006 Toyota Camry Oil change and hose repair

My wife and I have been coming to Mike’s Auto Repair Huntington Beach for years. We first brought in our 1996 Dodge Caravan. We received such great service on the Dodge that I decided to bring them my then new 2006 Toyota Camry. They have done all the service and repairs on it since then. Over the years they have done all the scheduled maintenance like oil changes and air filters. The Toyota expert mechanics do a complete inspection with every service. The last service I had they found that I had a radiator hose that was beginning to leak. I couldn’t leave it to be repaired that day but when my next service was due they were prepared to replace my hose and check my cooling system. Chip M. and his 2000 Dodge Ram Van

I have been coming to Mike’s Auto Repair for a couple of years now. I was referred by a colleague at Golden West College. I bring my 2000 Dodge Ram Van and my son brings his 2000 Acura Integra for all repairs and scheduled maintenance. Recently the van had an oil leak. I immediately took it to Mike’s to have the Dodge Expert Mechanic look at it. They found it was leaking from a couple of different places, the valve cover gasket and the rear main seal. They repaired the leaks and also performed a differential service and transmission service, along with the regular oil change. Dillion Curfmann ASE Certified Brake Mechanic

Congratulations Dillion Curfman in achieving ASE status.  Dillion has been working for Mike’s Auto Repair for over a year as a technician assistant.  Since his start date he has been studying for his ASE exam in brake repair and in November passed to receive his certification.  His next goal is Engine Repair and Front Suspension certifications.

Rex P. 2002 Toyota Sequoia

I started bringing my cars to Mike’s Auto Repair in Huntington Beach back in 2007. Over the years Mike has worked on my 2001 Oldsmobile Alero, 2002 Toyota Tacoma and 2002 Toyota Sequoia. A few months ago the Sequoia developed a leak from the transmission. The Toyota Expert Mechanic at Mike’s Auto Repair inspected the car and found the leak was coming from the tail shaft housing seal and bushing. They replaced the bad parts and serviced the transmission. While they had the wheels off the noted that my rear brakes needed to be replaced. All these repairs were done by the next day. Ron Courreges, 2003 Chevrolet Express Van

Ron Courreges has been bringing his 2003 Chevrolet Express Van to Mike’s Auto Repair for a  little while now. The first time he brought his Chevy Van in he had a coolant leak. The Chevy Expert Mechanic performed a pressure test and found the thermostat housing and water pump were leaking. ASE Certified mechanics replaced the parts and filled the cooling system with coolant. He was so happy with the repair that Mike’s Auto Repair Huntington Beach has performed scheduled maintenance services since then.

If the Courreges name sounds familiar that’s because Ron’s family was one of the founding families of Fountain Valley. Roch Courreges was a sheep farmer and bought a large plot of land off of what is now Talbert Ave. He helped found the First National Bank of Huntington Beach, the Smeltzer Telephone Company, and the Farmer’s Cannery. The old tank house, which was built in 1908, can still be seen today amid all the new housing.
