MIKE SCHEPENS established Mike’s Auto Service in September 1994. Mike started repairing cars and trucks shortly after high school at Brady Shell in Costa Mesa while attending Orange Coast College. There he learned from some of the most knowledgeable technicians of their time and with the hands on experience Mike developed a sound mechanical and technical sense. Through the years Mike continues to expand his knowledge in auto repair by attending technical classes and seminars. Today he is a Certified ASE Master Technician. Mike continues to keep up with the latest automotive technology and training and recently completed the Hybrid vehicles safety and service courses. He also attends business management and customer service seminars to provide his customers the best in the automotive maintenance, repair and service.

Married to the “Boss” for over 30 years, Mike and Val have two grown children. Mike a distance runner has run six marathons and numerous half marathons. His current athletic goal is to develop into a tri-athlete and has recently completed his first triathlon. When not in training and if it is fall you can always find him watching his favorite pastime football.


VAL SCHEPENS a.k.a. “The Boss” organizes the Mike’s Auto Service Team. As Mike’s Auto Service grew, Val joined Mike full time in 1997 to become more involved in the day-to-day operation of running their small business. Wearing many hats from greeting customers, checking in cars to being the main shuttle service, Val also takes on the office responsibilities including marketing, promotions and advertising.

Val is a graduate of the University of Phoenix and prior to Mike’s Auto Service worked as a Marketing Director for corporate organizations such as Burger King, Tony Roma’s and Ruby’s Diner.

With her two grown children on their own, that leaves Val plenty of time to pursue her passion in fitness and health. Like Mike, Val enjoys running and has completed seven marathons and numerous half marathons.
